What to do in the first hour after a suspected call

PDF guide · thefamilyword.com/resources/r2

A short, practical checklist for the moment a parent is unsure.

What's inside

This is the print-friendly version of the pdf guide. Use your browser's "Save as PDF" (Cmd/Ctrl + P → Destination: Save as PDF) to keep a copy.

How to use it

  1. Read it once, slowly, with the family member who manages a parent's day-to-day.
  2. Print one copy for the fridge, one for a wallet, and one for the caregiver if one exists.
  3. Re-read once a quarter or after any close-call.

If a call has already happened

File a report at reportfraud.ftc.gov and a second report at ic3.gov. Then call the bank's fraud line. The first hour matters; the next hour matters less.
